The Center for Campus Fire Safety provides initial notification about fire fatalities that occur on a university or college campus, or that occurred within the town where the campus is located. This data is collected from news sources from around the country, and many time - around the world.
Breaking News: Breaking News is uploaded to our home page (and to this page) and automatically pushed out to those that sign up to receive it. Breaking News will include basic information about fire fatalities that occurred on a university or college campus, or that occurred within the town where the campus is located. Also refer to Fire Fatalities to learn how The Center defines these. Breaking News will also include large fires where several students may have been injured or the loss of property is significant.
Fire Incident News: The Center also collects fire incident news addressing smaller campus related fire incidents, or fires without major injury. This information will NOT be included in your breaking news email.
Mass Notification News: The importance of Mass Notification Systems (MNS) is growing daily. The Center collects news addressing implementation and leglislation about these systems as they apply to college and university campuses.
